When you visit our website https://www.nationalmathstars.org/ (the “Website”), and more generally, use any of our services, including newsletters, forms, or events (such services and the Website collectively the “Services”), we appreciate that you are trusting us with your personal information. We take your privacy very seriously. In this Privacy Notice, we seek to explain to you clearly what information we collect, how we use it and what rights you have in relation to it. If there are any terms in this Privacy Notice that you do not agree with, please discontinue use of our Services immediately. 

This Privacy Notice applies to all users of the Services (collectively, our “Users”). It governs all information submitted by our Users or collected through our Services. It does not apply to information collected by any third party, including through any  website or application operated by a third party and any content (including advertising) that may  link to or be accessible from or through the Services.

  1. CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13 

The Website is not intended for children under 13 years of age without verifiable consent from a  child’s parent. No one under age 13 may provide any personal information to or on the Website  without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13  without parental consent. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on the Website  or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or  email address, without parental consent. If we learn we have collected or received personal  information through the Website from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will  delete that information. For the Services apart from the Website that involve children under 13 years  of age, we will obtain verifiable parental consent to collect such information. Any third-party  websites and applications that are part of the Services and accessed by children under 13 years of  age will be subject to the privacy policies of such websites and applications.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, when you participate in activities on the Website or otherwise when you contact us.

The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Website and the choices you make. The personal information we collect may include the following: 

Personal information provided by you 

We collect names; phone numbers; email addresses; role; interests; and other similar information, and this may vary depending on your choices. All that you provide to us must be true, complete and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information by contacting us at operations@nationalmathstars.org

By voluntarily providing us with personal information, you are consenting to our use of it in accordance with this Privacy Notice. 

Information automatically collected 

We use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to evaluate your use of the Services, compile reports on activity, collect demographic data, analyze performance metrics, and collect and evaluate other information relating to the Services and internet usage. This information does not reveal your identity directly (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information which makes you identifiable, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about when you use our Website and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Website, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes. By accessing and using the Services, you consent to the processing of data about you by these analytics providers in the manner and for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice. The information used by such analytics services is generally at the aggregate level.

Like many organizations, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies.

  • Log and Usage Data. Log and usage data is service-related, diagnostic usage and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use our Website and which we record in log files. Depending on how you interact with us, this log data may include your IP address, device information, browser type and settings and information about your activity in the Website (such as the date/time stamps associated with your usage, pages and files viewed, searches and other actions you take such as which features you use), device event information (such as system activity, error reports (sometimes called ‘crash dumps’) and hardware settings).

  • Request feedback. We may use your information to request feedback and to contact you about your use of our Website. 
  • To send administrative information to you. We may use your personal information to send you product, service and new feature information and/or information about changes to our terms, conditions, and policies.

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to access or store information. Most Web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements). 

  1. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE? 

We have implemented reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security, and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we work hard to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Website is at your own risk. 

  1. YOUR CHOICES 

Opting out of emails: You can unsubscribe from our marketing email list at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send or by contacting us using the details provided below. You will then be removed from the marketing email list – however, we may still communicate with you, for example to send you service-related emails that are necessary for the administration and use of your account, to respond to service requests, or for other non-marketing purposes. To opt-out in other ways, you may contact us using the contact information provided. 

  1. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES 

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice. 

  1. EXTERNAL WEBSITES 

The Services may contain links to third-party websites. We have no control over the privacy practices or the content of any of our business partners, advertisers, sponsors, or other websites to which we provide links. As such, we are not responsible for the content or the privacy policies of those third-party websites. You should check the applicable third-party privacy policy and terms of use when visiting any other websites. 

  1. YOUR STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS 

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, Oregon, Tennessee,  Texas, Utah, and Virginia provide (now or in the future) their state residents with rights to: 

  • Confirm whether we process their personal information. 
  • Access and delete certain personal information. 
  • Correct inaccuracies in their personal information, taking into account the information’s nature  processing purpose (excluding Iowa and Utah). 
  • Data portability. 
  • Opt-out of personal data processing for targeted advertising (excluding Iowa), sales, or 
  • profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects (excluding  Iowa and Utah). 
  • Either limit (opt-out of) or require consent to process sensitive personal data. 

The exact scope of these rights may vary by state. To exercise any of these rights please submit your  request in writing to us using the contact information provided below. 

Nevada provides its residents with a limited right to opt-out of certain personal information sales.  Residents who wish to exercise this sale opt-out rights may submit a request to us. However, please  know we do not currently sell data triggering that statute’s opt-out requirements. 

  1. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NON-U.S. RESIDENTS 

The Services are operated in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that any information you provide to us will be transferred to the United States where the privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your country of origin. If you are located outside the United States and choose to use the Services, you consent to any transfer and processing of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Notice, and you do so at your own risk.
